What children learn

Strength, rhythm and confidence through play

Through lion dance, kids learn teamwork, creativity and resilience in an environment that is fun, supportive and inspiring.

  • Play-based learning

Games, group activities and performance practice are at the heart of every session.

  • Lion head & tail

Children learn both roles and how the head and tail move together as one lion.

  • Footwork & stances

Strong foundations: stretching, kicking, horse stance, bow stance and empty stance.

  • Drumming & cymbals

Simple drum beats, keeping a steady rhythm, and playing cymbals and gong with the drum.

  • Teamwork

Perseverance, effort and working together, with older students helping newer members.

  • Creative routines

Children bring their own ideas into routines, so every performance is uniquely theirs.

  • Grading

A structured grading system sets clear milestones in skill and confidence.

  • Family & community performances

Students share their progress with family, friends and the wider community.

Learning style

The best learning happens through play

  • Sessions are play-based, with games, group activities and performance practice at the core.
  • Children are encouraged to bring their own ideas into the routines.
  • The focus is always on enjoyment, curiosity and child-led growth.

Flexible commitment

Made for busy families

  • The main expectation is simply to attend practices when you can.
  • Rehearsals increase in the lead-up to performances, so the group is ready to perform as a team.
  • Every child develops at their own pace, with support to help them shine when they’re ready.

Grading
